Asuhan Keperawatan Dengan Masalah Hipertermi Pada Pasien Demam Tifoid Di Ruang Anak RSUD dr. M. Soewandhie Surabaya

Typhoid fever is an acute infectious disease caused by salmonella typhi bacteria that often found in tropical and subtropical areas with poor water resources and sanitation. Indonesia is one of endemic countries for typhoid. The fever is commonly occured in age group of 3-19 years old (91 % case). This research aims to learn and understand the nursing care of hyperthermia to the patient with typhoid fever in pediatric room of dr. M. Soewandhie hospital.
This research is carried out using study case method by approximation of nursing care by taking case of typhoid fever. The samples were 2 children with typhoid fever, both new and relapsed patients hospitalized in the pediatric room of RSUD Dr. M Soewandhie Surabaya. The data were obtained by a series of interviews, physical examination and supporting examination. Data collection instrument for this study is nursing care formats according the format of Soetomo Nursing Academy. This research was carried out on March 21st -30th 2014.
The result showed that both patients got hyperthermia. Nursing diagnose of case 1 and case 2 was hyperthermia related to systemic inflammatory response. Implementation is performed based on intervention that had been arranged. The result in the evaluation stage showed that the problem in case 1 was resolved within 3 x 24 hours and the problem ni case 2 was resolved within 5 x 24 hours.
The author hope that the medical personnel are able to give conseling to the patient and their familly about typhoid fever to increase their knowledge and prevent the typhoid relapse for the carrier patient.
