Asuhan Keperawatan Perubahan Nutrisi Dari Kebutuhan Tubuh Pada Klien Demam Tifoid Di Ruang Anak RSUD dr. M. Soewandhie Surabaya
Typhoid fever is an acute infectious disease caused by salmonella thypi bacteria that often encountered in tropical and subtropical areas including Indonesia. In most cases, the disease mostly occurs in children age groups (3-19). This research aims to study and understand in depth the nursing care of nutritional imbalance less than body’s requirement on patients with typhoid fever in the children care room of RSUD. This study uses case study approach to nursing care by taking the case of typhoid fever. The sample of this study consists of two children with typhoid fever, both new and relapsed patients hospitalized in the children care room of RSUD. Dr. Mohammad Soewandhie Surabaya. The data are obtained through a series of interviews conducted to parents or people in-charge of the patients, physical examination and supporting examination. Data collection’s instruments of this study are compiled based on the format of nursing care that is applicable in the Department of Nursing, Akademi Keperawatan Soetomo Surabaya. This study is conducted from the period of February 26, 2014 to March 3, 2014.
The result shows that both patients lost weight during the illness. Weight loss occurs, for both patients experience nausea, vomiting, and appetite loss. Nursing diagnosis in case 1 and case 2 are nutritional imbalance less than body’s requirement related to inadequate nutritional intake. At the planning stage, it is found that the interventions existed in theory can be applied to overcome problems in the real cases of typhoid fever in hospital. The execution was carried out in accordance with the plan that has been drawn up previously. The results obtained in the evaluation stage show that in case 1, the problem can be resolved within the period of 5x24 hours after the patient receive treatment in hospital; the added weight is 0.5 kg. In case 2, the problem can be resolved in the period of 3x24 after the patient receive treatment in hospital; the added weight is also 0.5 kg.
From this study, it is expected that local health workers are able to give continues counselings to families regarding to typhoid fever; hence, children’s health status will increase, family became more cooperative to the given therapy, and further they can cope with the early incidences of typhoid fever. Besides, families are also expected to be able to prevent the recurrence of typhoid fever from the previous carriers in the children care room of RSUD. Dr. Mohammad Soewandhie Surabaya
