Pneumonia is an acute inflammation of the lung parenchyma, there are bronchioles, alveolar ducts and sacs, and alveoli that interfere with air exchange. Pneumonia has always been on 10 biggest disease every year in health facilities and ranks second only to diarrhea. This shows that pneumonia is a principal public problem that causes high toddlers mortality rate in Indonesia. This research aims to study and understand in depth about ineffective airway clearance of pediatric nursing care on patient with bronchopneumonia in Ruang Anak RSUD Dr. M. Soewandhie Surabaya.
This research uses descriptive method to approach nursing care that takes the case as the unit of analysis. The unit of analysis is the child hospitalized with bronchopneumonia in ruang anak RSUD Dr. M. Soewandhie Surabaya. Methods of data collection with interviews, medical record, physical examination, and supported examination. Data collection instruments used formats nursing care in accordance with applicable provisions in Prodi Keperawatan Kampus Soetomo.
based on the analysis of the data obtained the conclusion assessment requires effective communication skills, nursing diagnoses adjustable with klien condition, planning and implementation is supported by facilities and infrastructure that could support, evaluations conducted both formative and summative directly.
expected more attention to health expert especially nurse for increase communication skills in providing health education to improve health status of children, especially in providing nursing care with bronchopneumonia, so as to reduce the high rate of mortality and morbidity toddler in Indonesia
