Pulmonary tuberculosis (pulmonary TB) is an infectious disease caused by bacteria (Mycobacterium tuberculosis), Transmission occurs through droplet nuclei from the air. The goal of this research is to learn and to understand in depth about family nursing care with risk of transmission problem on family which one of the members got pulmonary tuberculosis. This research use case study method with family nursing care approach then take one case as analysis unit. The analysis unit is family which one of the family members got pulmonary tuberculosis with risk of transmission problem in work area of Pucang Sewu Health Centre Surabaya. Data collection method is by interview and physical checking. Data collection instrument is using family nursing care form according to Keperawatan Soetomo Surabaya. The data is presented in narrative. The diagnosis priority is risk of transmission so it did to give counseling which is focus to five family tasks and the result is booth of that family understood and known about pulmonary tuberculosis especially risk of the transmission. The conclusion is we must give a counseling not only to the patient or family but also to the community to be more exposed on pulmonary tuberculosis, especially the risk of transmisson so they are able to perform self-care at home, and can help to prevent risk of transmission
